Vessel General Permit (VGP) Notice of Intent (NOI)

The Vessel General Permit (VGP), mandated under the U.S. Clean Water Act, regulates routine vessel discharges, including ballast and bilge water, to safeguard water quality. The VGP sets forth pollution prevention measures, best management practices, and reporting requirements.

Vessel operators seeking coverage must submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prior to operating in U.S. waters subject to the VPG, which entails waters extending up to three (3) nautical miles from the baseline of the United States Coast.

HudsonAnalytix provides VGP / NOI services to facilitate compliance on their client’s behalf. This includes a user-driven training module, VGP document resource library, checklist with logs, vessel-specific VGP manuals, and preparation and submission of NOI/Terminations and Annual Reports with the EPA, as well as general VGP/NOI question support.
