Certificate of Financial Responsibility (COFR)

A Certificate of Financial Responsibility (COFR) is a requisite document for vessel owners that a vessel has adequate insurance or financial resources to cover potential liabilities for oil spills or other environmental damage. It is mandatory for qualifying vessels, ensuring readiness to address cleanup expenses and natural resource damages resulting from oil spills.

HudsonAnalytix provides services to assist ship owners in obtaining their COFR for the United States (US Federal COFR), as well as for specific states, including Alaska (AK COFR) and California (CA COFR).

Hudson’s services include the submission of evidence of financial responsibility, typically insurance, to the U.S. Coast Guard's National Pollution Funds Center.
